Selon une \u00e9tude <a href=\"#1\">[1]<\/a> de 2015, intitul\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0R\u00f4le des phytost\u00e9rols dans la tol\u00e9rance du riz au stress hydrique\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0les phytost\u00e9rols font partie int\u00e9grante des composants des membranes cellulaires. Ils r\u00e9gulent la fluidit\u00e9 de la membrane en jouant sur ses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s, ses fonctions et sa structure.\u00a0\u00bb Les scientifiques ont tout d\u2019abord constat\u00e9 que les phytost\u00e9rols avaient un r\u00f4le dans la rigidification des parois cellulaires lors de la croissance de la plante et donc de l\u2019augmentation de la biomasse. Ils ont effectivement observ\u00e9 une augmentation des quantit\u00e9s de phytost\u00e9rols proportionnelle \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de la plante. <a href=\"#2\">[2]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La membrane plasmique maintenue par les phytost\u00e9rols<\/h2>\n<p>En cas de stress hydrique, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de riz, de tournesol ou de colza, une hausse cons\u00e9quente des phytost\u00e9rols est aussi mesur\u00e9e au point que les chercheurs valident le fait que \u00ab\u00a0les\u00a0phytost\u00e9rols\u00a0et leurs esters pourraient avoir un r\u00f4le dans la tol\u00e9rance au stress hydrique en renfor\u00e7ant les membranes cellulaires.\u00a0\u00bb <a href=\"#3\">[3]<\/a>\u00a0Cela irait de pair avec le constat que \u00ab\u00a0l\u2019une des principales manifestations du stress chez les plantes est la d\u00e9sint\u00e9gration de la membrane plasmique\u00a0\u00bb <a href=\"#4\">[4]<\/a>, d\u2019o\u00f9 l\u2019id\u00e9e qu\u2019en cas de stress hydrique, la plante cherche \u00e0 maintenir co\u00fbte que co\u00fbte l\u2019\u00e9tat de sa membrane.<\/p>\n<p>Si la membrane est d\u00e9grad\u00e9e, la cellule n\u2019est plus aussi fonctionnelle. Toujours dans l\u2019\u00e9tude sur le riz, les chercheurs ont observ\u00e9 que plus le stress hydrique est fort, plus la quantit\u00e9 de phytost\u00e9rols produite est importante. Dans une \u00e9tude<a href=\"https:\/\/groupeisagri-my.sharepoint.com\/personal\/agouchet_groupeisagri_com\/Documents\/Bureau\/Factory\/ELICIT%20PLANT\/Dossier%20partenaire\/Elicit_art4_r%C3%B4le%20des%20phytosterols.docx#_ftn5\">[5]<\/a>\u00a0portant sur une autre plante, Ramonda serbica, sa r\u00e9hydratation apr\u00e8s un stress hydrique important permettait aux membranes plasmiques des cellules des feuilles de retrouver quasi la m\u00eame composition que celle des plantes n\u2019ayant pas souffert de la m\u00eame \u00e9preuve. Et le taux de phytost\u00e9rols avait baiss\u00e9, montrant bien le lien entre ces mol\u00e9cules et une adaptation du v\u00e9g\u00e9tal au manque d\u2019eau.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un message pour se pr\u00e9parer au manque d\u2019eau<\/h2>\n<p>Fort de ces constats,\u00a0Elicit Plant\u00a0a \u00e9labor\u00e9 une solution \u00e0 base de phytost\u00e9rols pour aider les cultures \u00e0 s\u2019adapter au stress hydrique li\u00e9 aux s\u00e9cheresses de plus en plus fr\u00e9quentes. \u00ab\u00a0<em>Notre solution envoie comme un message \u00e0 la plante pour la pr\u00e9venir qu\u2019un stress va arriver et qu\u2019elle va devoir se pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 s\u2019adapter physiologiquement parlant<\/em> \u00bb, explique Aymeric Molin, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral\u00a0Elicit Plant. Dans ce sens, la plante b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d\u2019 \u00ab\u00a0un coup d\u2019avance\u00a0\u00bb car elle modifie son \u00e9quilibre pour se pr\u00e9parer au stress. \u00ab\u00a0<em>Plut\u00f4t qu\u2019elle produise elle-m\u00eame ses substances, nous les lui fournissons en amont du stress et nous observons leur effet positif\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb, rel\u00e8ve Aymeric Molin. Il d\u00e9crit ainsi un d\u00e9veloppement racinaire plus important dans certains types de sols. \u00ab\u00a0<em>C\u2019est comme si la plante savait qu\u2019elle allait manquer d\u2019eau. Elle va explorer le sol plus profond\u00e9ment pour augmenter ses ressources tant que le stress n\u2019est pas encore l\u00e0. Aussi, lorsque la s\u00e9cheresse arrive, la plante peut y faire face beaucoup plus facilement. Elle est mieux arm\u00e9e en quelque sorte\u00a0!<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb, analyse Aymeric Molin.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Moins de consommation d\u2019eau mais toujours autant de rendement<\/h2>\n<p>Autre \u00e9l\u00e9ment int\u00e9ressant observ\u00e9 \u00e0 la suite de l\u2019apport de la solution d\u2019Elicit plant \u00e0 base de phytost\u00e9rols\u00a0: la plante consomme moins d\u2019eau mais produit autant\u00a0! \u00ab\u00a0<em>Un peu \u00e0 l\u2019image de l\u2019eau dont vous disposez facilement et que vous gaspillez sans y penser\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb, fait remarquer Aymeric Molin. La plante \u00e9vapotranspire moins d\u2019eau mais produit toujours autant de biomasse, d\u2019o\u00f9 une \u00e9conomie d\u2019eau. \u00ab\u00a0<em>La consommation d\u2019eau chute de 40\u00a0% pour le soja et de 20\u00a0% pour le ma\u00efs en journ\u00e9e. La nuit, la diff\u00e9rence ne se voit pas\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb, t\u00e9moigne Aymeric Molin, \u00e0 propos des recherches en plein champs\u00a0d\u2019Elicit Plant\u00a0en France.
